Mrs. Zena Harman, of Israel, completing two years as chairman of the executive board of the United Nations Childrens Fund, has stepped down from that office due to the fact that the UNICEF constitution provides that no chairman can serve more than two years.
The executive board at its annual session here elected Joseph W. Willard of Canada as her successor. The 30-member board elected Mrs. Harman once again to membership on UNICEF’s program committee, the body that plans UNICEF’s activities in virtually every country around the world. Before her election to the executive board in 1964, Mrs. Harman was a member of the program committee for many years and served that group as chairman several times. In private life, Mrs. Harman is the wife of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Avraham Harman.
