‘zim’ Line Starts Operations in India; First Ship Reaches Bombay

Operation of an India-Israel line has been started by the Zim Israel Shipping Company, which has opened an office in Bombay, it was reported here today. Ths S/S Akko, the first Israeli ship to touch at an Indian port, arrived at the Bombay docks from the Far East and loaded a general cargo for the return trip.

Zim operations in India were expected to lead to increased Indo-Israel trade. Other Israeli commercial firms are expected soon to be permitted to open offices in India for operations which will mark a new chapter in Indian-Israeli relations.
