Zionist Bloc and Government Party Deadlocked over Plan Plan for Election Cooperation

The negotiations between the spokesman of the recently organized Zionist election bloc and the government bloc in connection with the forthcoming parliamentary elections, have reached a deadlock because with the exception of the possibility of the abolition of the Czaristic restrictions, which is not yet certain, the government party has refused to accede to any of the other Jewish demands, Deputy Isaac Gruenbaum declared at a press conference here today.

Explaining the refusal of the Zionists to join with the Agudath Israel in a united Jewish front, Deputy Gruenbaum and Deputy Farbstein said that a united bloc with the Agudah would mean a disavowal of Jewish national interests because the Agudah, they said, preaches a policy of giving in to any government which politically demoralizes the Jewish masses. The Zionist leaders feel that the Jewish population is Zionistically inclined and are hopeful of obtaining the largest vote. The Agudah has published an announcement holding the Zionists responsible for the failure to achieve a united Jewish bloc.
