The newly elected executive council of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain was urged in a resolution adopted today at the federation’s annual conference to make representations to the British authorities for a more liberal interpretation of the present laws on transfer of money and goods from Britain to Israel.
The conference expressed the belief that such a measure would help expand British-Israeli trade and, from a long-term point of view, would be in the best interests of both countries. The resolution noted the great potentialities for British investment in Israel. Janus Cohen, Palestine-born solicitor, was elected chairman of the federation.
