Zionists, Arabs Not Consulted on New High Commissioner

Neither the Zionist leaders nor the Arabs were consulted by the British government before it appointed General Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, general officer commanding northern Ireland as the New High Commissioner for Palestine, Dr. Drummond Shiels, under-secretary of state for the Colonies, declared today in the House of Commons. Dr. Shiels’ statement was in response to an inquiry from Michael Marcus, Labor M.P.
