Jewish refugees arriving from Bulgaria, report that the Macedonian Revolutionary Committee, which is seeking to liberate Macedonia from the Serbs and the Greeks, are imposing heavy demands of money upon the Jewish population, asking sixty million leva. Many Jews do not possess enough money or goods to pay their individual quotas, while others have been forced to dispose of all of their property through terrorization. Nobody dares ask protection of the government, the refugees relate. Large numbers of Jews are preparing to flee the country.
