The application of the German Republic for admission to membership in the League of Nations was welcomed at a mass meeting arranged here last night by the Jewish People’s Party.
Speakers at the meeting stressed the necessity of keeping the representatives of Germany in the Council of the League well posted concerning the Palestine mandate and the national minorities treaties.
A number of nationalistic German newspapers, including the “Deutsche Zeitung” and the “Schlesische Volkstimme” conduct propaganda against Germany’s entry in the League. These papers, reporting a part of the address of Dr. Alfred Klee, in which he stated that the idea of the League of Nations had its origin with the Jewish prophets, declared that “Dr. Klee has divulged the secret that the League of Nations is a Jewish creation.”
