Repudiating his previous proposal to bring some measure of relief to the separated families of declarants, Chairman Johnson of the House Immigration Committee proposed in a resolution in the House that a commission to study the immigration and naturalization laws be created. This commission, according to the resolution, would be composed of members of Congress who have been elected to serve in the Seventieth Congress, and would be designated by the Chairmen of the respective committees of the House and the Senate.
