An attempt to raise a fund for the continuance of the “Wiener Morgenzeitung”, the only daily Jewish paper published in the German language in Central Europe, is being made by Herr Richard Schubar, manager and member of the editorial staff of the paper, who is on a visit to the country.
A committee, including Judge Julian W. Mack, Joseph Barondess and Phillip Wattenburg, have undertaken to assist in this effort.
In explaining the important function performed by the “Wiener Morgenzeitung”, Mr. Schubar painted a picture of the anti-Semitic movement in Central Europe, and stated that an aggressive campaign of enlightenment to counteract the poisonous attacks of the anti-Semites is required.
