The official declaration of the Roumanian Government, promising to always take full measures for the protection of the life and property of Roumanian Jews was issued today by Prime Minister Bratiano. The declaration simultaneously expresses the appreciation of the Roumanian Government of the action taken by the United Roumanian Jews of America in issuing their statement on the loan Roumania is seeking in America.

The declaration followed a number of conferences held with government dignitaries by Leon Fischer, New York printer, vice-president of the United Roumanian Jews of America, who is here on a visit. Mr. Fischer was also received by Queen Marie, on the recommendation of George Cretziano, Roumanian Minister to Washington.

Following the conferences Mr. Fischer declared that Prime Minister Bratiano had shown him the order, just signed, allotting the amount of $10,000 for the victims of the anti-Jewish excesses in Cluj and Oradeamare. The Prime Minister also assured him that the first payment for the needs of Jewish religious institutions in Roumania, for which the state budget provided $62,500 this year, will soon be made.

Eleven Jewish students are among the graduates of the University of Washington to receive diplomas at the exercises on June 11.
