A move to prevent the illegal practice of applying a numerous clausus to Jewish students in Polish colleges and universities was made today by the Jewish deputies in the Polish parliament.
In Poland there is no law imposing restrictions upon the number of Jewish students to be admitted to the universities. The limitation, however, is being enforced by the authorities of the respective colleges. The government has frequently declared that it is unable to intervene in such cases as caz, Carpatho Russia, Czechoslovakia, us.
An urgent motion was therefore introduced by the Jewish deputies, asking for the enactment of a law regulating the re Latinos between the educational institutions and the government, defining the status of the college authorities. The bill would also limit the jurisdiction of the college authorities in such a manner as to prevent their practice of discrimination.
