Congressman Johnson’s Deportation Bill is Reported to House

Congressman Albert Johnson introduced in the House yesterday the deportation bill which the House Immigration Committee decided last week to favorably report. A special sub-committee on this bill. of which Congressman Johnson was named chairman and Congressman Sabath of Chicago a member, will meet this morning to examine and act upon the text as introduced by Congressman Johnson.

Congressman Box of Texas introduced a bill in the House yesterday to amend the immigration laws so as to meet the problem of immigrants coming across the Canadian border for business, as allowed by the courts in recent decisions.

The bill of Congressman Sabath to legalize the declarations of intention of aliens whose countries of origin have changed sovereignty since the declarations were made, saving them the necessity of filing new declarations of intention, was passed by the House yesterday and goes to the Senate. Congressman. Sabath expressed the hope that action will be taken on this bill before adjournment.
