A demand that proselytes be barred from entering the Jewish Cemetery of Budapest was made by certain Orthodox Jewish circles here following an incident which occurred during the funeral of Herr Kaszop, late president of the Kehillah.
Following the eulogy of the Rabbi over the grave, an address was delivered by a converted Jew.
Feeling against this incident ran high and the demand was expressed that proselytes be barred from the cemetery. The Budapest Rabbinate, considering this demand, doubted whether it was possible to forbid persons to visit their fathers’ graves. The question is being considered by the Rabbinate and the Kehillah council. It was stated that no prohibition act would be issued to this effect but that internal restrictions would be made.
