Jewry of Budapest, the birthplace of Theodor Herzl, has decided to honor the memory of the late leader and founder of political Zionism on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death this summer.

The Budapest Kehillah adopted a resolution to undertake the erection of a Jewish community center to be known as the Culture House, in memory of the illustrious son of Budapest.

Theodor Herzl was born in Budapest May 2, 1860. It was in that city that he encountered great opposition to his political conceptions of Zionism when he formulated it.
