Nikolai Mandelstam, revolutionary leader and director of the propaganda section of the Communist party until the Right Wing opposition developed, died here at the age of 50. Death was due to cancer of the lungs. Mandelstam fought in the Red Army in the Ukraine against the pogrom bands of Attaman Machno.
