Charged with murder by premeditated shooting forty-four Jews have been imprisoned in the citadel of Acre, where Vladimir Jabotinsky and nineteen of his co-defenders of Jerusalem were confined in 1920. Their release on bail is impossible before a magistrate decides under which charge they shall be held.

This forty-four men were captured in the flour mill of Haifa during the riots.

They are reported to be in excellent spirits and do not complain against the ill treatment which they suffer at the hands of the wardens. They are being supplied with food by the workers of the Haifa kitchen.
