Arab circles in America were considerably elated over a report current that Premier Ramsay MacDonald during his recent visit here, had declared that a special meeting of the British Cabinet would be held to consider the modification of the Balfour Declaration. Ameen Rihani, spokesman for the Arabs, who was received by the Premier, was alleged to have quoted the Premier to this effect.
An inquiry by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency brought the following reply from Mr. Rihani, regarding the statement: “No, I did not make the statement mentioned.”
