Chemung County Raises $130,000 for Charities

The first annual drive of the Elmira and Chemung County Community Chest has resulted in the raising of over $130,000 for sixteen charitable organizations, including local Jewish relief. Attorney Benjamin F. Levy, who was instrumental in organizing the Chest, was made its first president. At the opening dinner of the campaign, Rabbi Henry P. Silverman offered up the invocation.
