Franz Rosenzweig, Jewish philosopher, died today at the age of 45. He was the translator of the works of the Hebrew poet Yehuda Halevi, and together with Martin Buber created the famous modern Bible translation in Germany. A physical defect prevented him from accepting a call to Frankfort University in 1922 as professor of religious science.
