Only eight thousand of 28,000 Jewish workers in Ukrainia declared Yiddish to be their mother tongue, published statistics revealed today. The number of those who refused to recognize Yiddish as their mother tongue has increased during the last three years by sixteen percent. The figures also show that the tendency to substitute Yiddish with Russian is growing tremendously among the Jewish workers in Ukrainia.
