Jewish labor circles in Palestine are planning a huge welcome for Abraham Shiplacoff, chairman; Morris Finestone, vice-chairman, and Isaac Hamlin, secretary of the National Labor Committee for the Organized Jewish Workers of Palestine, who arrived here today. These three American-Jewish labor leaders, together with Morris Kentridge, Labor member of the South African parliament, will be the guests at a reception tonight in Tel Aviv by the General Federation of Jewish Labor.
The three Americans will spend about three weeks in Palestine after which they will leave for Berlin to participate together with other American delegates, in the first world congress for the Jewish workers of Palestine, which will be held September 20.
In articles welcoming the Jewish labor leaders from the Diaspora (outside of Palestine) the Hebrew labor daily, the “Davar,” says: “This is the first time that a delegation of the Jewish proletariat from the outside has come here. The delegation is especially important now because it came during days of distress. They were pioneers in the Jewish labor movement in America where they created a great force. We shall borrow courage from this force.”
