Windsor (Dec. 3)
David A. Croll, local Jewish attorney, was yesterday elected mayor of the city in the municipal elections, thus making him the second Jew to be chief executive of a Canadian municipality. Windsor has a Jewish population of about 1,000. Croll, who is 30 years old, is president of the Windsor Talmud Torah, a member of the board of directors of the Shaar Hashomayim synagogue and a leader in every communal enterprise.
He is now the central figure in a movement to organize a Jewish philanthropy federation in Windsor. Mrs. Croll, a former Detroit girl, is president of the Windsor Hadassah.
