Dr. Benjamin Jacobs, widely known in the medical profession, died at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., today, according to word received here by Harry Friedberg, Dr. Jacobs brother-in-law. Dr. Jacobs failed to recover from a major operation. He had practiced medicine for 28 years and was a former president of the Alfred Benjamin Dispensary.
Much of his practice was of a philanthropic character. He was 64 years old and a graduate of the medical and law schools of Kansas University. For three years he was a student at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, playing on its football team in 1883 and 1884.
