Palestine is suffering from a severe drought which shows no sign of breaking and there is great fear for the crops, both in Palestine and Trans jordan. The entire rainfall this year has been only half the total rainfall of last year.
Special prayers for rain are being necited in all synagogues, mosques and churches, on both sides of the Jordan.
