A demand that imperial preference status be granted Palestine imports was voiced in the House of Commons by the Conservative M. P., Williams.

It is absurd, he said, for Britain to be responsible for defense and preservation of law and order in Palestine, and yet to be debarred from giving Palestine imports preference. This is an anomalous situation which must be cleared up.

Mr. Williams expressed regret that the Ottawa conference decisions are prejudicial to the future progress of the orange industry in Palestine. He urged the British government to relieve Palestine’s legitimate grievance in this regard.
