Lord Melchett spent the day here on Sunday en route to Poland. He was cordially received at a reception arranged by the Maccabee Association and also conferred with the president of the Berlin Jewish Community, Wilhelm Kleeman, regarding the position of German Jews.

Lord Melchett and Dr. Lelewer, the president of the Maccabee Association addressed the reception meeting which was held in Kroll Hall. Lord Melchett appealed to World Jewry to prepare for the Jewish future in Palestine.

In an interview with the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here Lord Melchett stated that he plans to discuss the position of the Jews with members of the Polish and Roumanian governments. He will emphasize in particular the right of the Jewish youth to work.

Lord Melchett plans to spend three days in Poland, whence he will proceed
