The centenary of the birth of the famous French Jewish engineer, Gustave Eiffel, who built the famous Eiffel Tower, in 1889, then the largest building in the world, will be celebrated throughout France.
M. Eiffel was born in Dijon in 1832 and died in 1923 at the age of 91.
