The Lubawitcher Rebbe received a telephoned request yesterday from Chicago to pray for the recovery of Mayor Anton Cermak, now critically ill in a Miami Hospital, from bullet wounds received at the hands of the would-be assassin of Presidentelect Roosevelt.

The request was telephoned to Riga, the Lubawitcher Rebbe’s home, by one Albert Goodman, of Chicago, an adherent, at the request of one of the Mayor’s daughters.

When it was learned that the Lubawitcher Rebbe was in Berlin, where he is recovering from a serious illness, a second trans-Atlantic telephone call was put through to Berlin.

The Lubawitcher Rebbe has granted the request put to him.
