Under the auspices of the United Hebrew Trades, with which seventy-five unions are affiliated, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union and other labor bodies, representing a membership of a quarter of a million, a Trade Union Committee representing all the Jewish labor unions in Greater New York has been formed in support of the Hias Emergency Fund for the Relief of Jewish Refugees from Germany. This fund has been created by the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society of America (HIAS) for the purpose of assisting the more than 50,000 Jews who have fled from Germany.
