Funeral services were held here yesterday for Harris E. Oser, former publisher and oldest Jewish printer here, who died of a heart attack at his printship, 1425 Vine Street, Saturday morning. Mr. Oser was 57 years old.
Mr. Oser took particular pleasure in the printing of Jewish things, and in 1897, at the age of 21, he became the publisher of a Jewish weekly newspaper here. A number of years later he published the Jewish weekly, The Herald, which later became the Philadelphia Morning Newspaper.
Mr. Oser is survived by his widow, Frances Oser, and by five children. He was one of the first members of the first Philadelphia Workmen’s Circle Branch, of Brith Achim and of other organizations.
