Jews Chosen As Leaders in Veterans’ Organizations

The number of Jewish citizens who have been chosen to head various divisions of the Veterans of Foreigns Wars here makes it evident that in spite of Nazi propaganda, recognition of merit continues as an institution of American democracy.

M. Metz Cohen, of Paterson, has been named State Commander of the V. F. W. Assistant Prosecutor Michael Breitkopf, of Newark, heads the 29th Division Association, of New Jersey. Samuel Spingarn, of Union City, received the unanimous backing of the organization as State commander of the American Legion. Harry I. Jacobs, of Newark, is the senior vice-commander.
