Major Fey promptly denied the correctness of the interpretations and stated that all he said was that the Jewish problem does not exist in Austria, but that if it should arise, his solution was national minority status for the Jews, with all minority rights.
The Austrian Vice-Chancellor disclaimed any other pronouncements contained in the alleged interview.
