Pledging “its utmost support to the United Jewish Appeal,” the Executive Committee of the Council of Jewish Organizations for Palestine passed a resolution voicing appreciation of “the devoted and wise leadership that recognized the necessity of uniting the Joint Distribution Committee and the American Palestine Campaign in a common appeal to the Jews of America,” at a meeting at the Hotel Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon.
The resolution was offered by Judge Benjamin Greenspan, chairman of the Council..
A vote of thanks to the New York Zionist Region for its aid in organizing the concert to Professor Einstein last week and a resolution to tender a dinner to Dr. Samuel Margoshes for his leadership in anti-Nazi activities were also passed. Judge Jonah J. Goldstein was named chairman of the dinner committee. The dinner will be held in May.
