Better Housing Week, May 13-19, is to be officially opened at a mass demonstration in Seward Park on Sunday at 3 o’clock.

Housing Week has been planned by the Lower East Side Housing Conference with the cooperation of the Welfare Council Housing Section and the United Neighborhood Houses. It is believed to be the first effort ever made in the-country to organize a strong sentiment among slum dwellers for proposed slum clearance and new low cost housing.

A tenement mother will appear on the platform at the rally, with speakers including Alfred E. Smith, Langdon W. Post, Tenement House Commissioner, B. Charney Vladeck and the Rev. E. R. Moore, members of the Housing Authority.
