Twelve American foresters will sail on Thursday, July 26 for Germany to study methods of forestation there. They will be the guests of the Oberlander Trust of the Carl Schurz Foundation.

Whether or not ancient usages of the axe now revived for meting out punishment to obstreperous non-Nazis will be demonstrated to the visiting Americans is not known.

Dr. Franz Heske, director of the forestry school at Tharandt, near Dresden, has been in this country for three months studying old American methods of using the axe exclusively on trees. He will lead the contingent back to Germany.
