Appoint Two Jews for Prague Faculty

Eight new professors have been appointed to the medical faculty of the German University of Prague, two of them Jews.

The Jews are Professors Berthold Epstein and Ludwig Freund. Professor Epstein, who has been appointed head of the Children’s Clinic of the university, is forty-four years old. He was born in Pilsen, and studied at Vienna and Prague. He graduated in 1914, and served as a medical officer at the front.

After the revolution Epstein was clinical assistant to Privy Councillor Czerny in Berlin, and afterwards held the same position in Prague under Professor Fischel, whom he succeeded as provisional head of the Children’s Clinic, and now as permanent head.
