Seventeen percent of the twenty-five million lei set aside by the Ministry of Education for the minority schools was allotted for the Jewish schools. A section of the press has voiced complaint that the Jewish allotment is out of proportion to the size of the Jewish population and Jewish participation in the state revenue.
