A new synagogue named “Mogen Abraham,” (Shield of Abraham) which will be used as a house of worship by the Bene Israel community, native Indian Jews, was dedicated at Ahmehabad today during a gala ceremony.

The celebration lasted for several days and hundreds of Jews from every section of India came here for the consecration.

Rabbi E. M. Ezekiel conducted the consecration ceremony and delivered the first sermon.

Among the prominent non-Jews present at the consecration were, the Collector of Ahmehabad; the district and session judges, and the mayor of the city.
