Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch yesterday performed his first marriage ceremony when, as Acting Mayor, he wed Rita McKenzie, twenty-two, of Amarillo, Tex., to Frank Murdock, son of the Mayor of that city.

The couple, on tour with a rodeo show, appeared at City Hall to be married by Mayor LaGuardia but as the Mayor was still absent on his Wisconsin campaign trip in support of the LaFollettes, Mr. Deutsch was sought to officiate.

Murdock, who has a reputation down in Texas as a hard-riding cowboy, appeared in a business suit, though the legs of his trousers were tucked into buckskin riding boots. He also wore a broad sombrero. Miss McKenzie gave no hint of her cowgirl proclivities. Mr. Deutsch forbore to kiss the bride.
