The National Council of the British Labor Party will officially participate in the forthcoming international non-sectarian anti-German boycott conference here, it was announced today.
W. A. Robinson, chairman of the British Labor Party, will head the delegation to the conference. Herbert Morrison, chairman of the London County Council and former Minister of Transport in the Labor cabinet, will address a mass meeting to be held on the last night of the conference.
Non-Jewish delegations from most of the European countries, the United States, and the Near Eastern countries are expected to attend the conference, which opens here next week.
DEPUTIES STAND PAT
The Board of Deputies of British Jews today voted not to take a stand on the boycott of German-made goods, but unanimously voted to reaffirm the statement of its president, Neville Laski, that “no self-respecting Jew will handle German goods or utilize German services in view of the continued anti-Jewish policy in that country.”
Attempts to draw the Board of Deputies into the organized boycott movement set on foot by the Jewish Representative Council, Anglo-Jewish boycott group, have failed. The viewpoint of the Board of Deputies has been that the organized boycott is harmful to Jewish interests in Germany.
