$250,000 Drive for Palestine Labor Started

The National Labor Committee for Palestine yesterday concluded a three-day conference at the Hotel Pennsylvania inaugurating a $250,000 campaign for Labor Palestine. More than 1,000 delegates from all over the United States were present.

Left-wing members of the Poale Zion picketed the Hotel Pennsylvania during the three days of the convention in protest against discontinuation of publication of a Yiddish newspaper in Palestine. They bore sandwich signs demanding that Davar, Palestine labor daily, continue publishing the paper. The left-wing Poale Zionists circulated leaflets among the delegates protesting against “suppression of the Yiddish language in Palestine by economic pressure.”

Speakers yesterday were Dr. George Landauer, Morris Rothenberg and Rabbi Samuel Wohl.
