Rosa Ponselle, Nino Martine, Richard Bonelli, Gladys Swarthout and Helen Gleason will be the featured artists at a concert Sunday evening at the Metropolitan Opera House which has been arranged by the Manhattan chapter of the women’s division of the American Jewish Congress.
The proceeds will be used as a maintenance fund for American Jewish Congress House, a clubhouse for refugees from Nazi Germany which is located at 50 West Sixty-eighth street.
Miss Ponselle’s part of the program will include an aria from “Aleeste”; a group of songs from La Traviata and Carmen, “Slumber of the Madonna” and “Rispetto.” She will also sing a duet from Aida with Signor Bonelli.
Signori Martini and Bonelli will sing a duet from “The Barber of Seville” and Signer Martini will also sing an aria from “Don Giovanni.”
Miss Swarthout will be heard in an aria from “Samson and Delilah,” while Miss Gleason will be heard in an aria from “Louise.”
