The Palestine Government was threatened today by the shopkeepers of Jerusalem with a twenty-four hour strike as a protest against the high rent in the city.
At a meeting of shopkeepers in Jerusalem today a resolution was adopted demanding that the government issue regulations limiting the rent for stores along the same lines as the rent for private reidences. The government rent regulations provide that the maximum rent that can be requested by a landlord is ten dollars a month per room. These regulations do not, however, limit in any way the rental for stores.
