The demand that Jewish lawyers be eliminated from practice was repeated today at a mass meeting of the Association of Aryan Lawyers of Austria, of which Dr. Buresch and Dr. Ender, former members of the Austrian cabinet and influential political leaders, are active members.
The meeting was called for the purpose of “paving the way for the reformation of the existing law regulations, in order to bar Jewish attorneys from the law profession.” The meeting was held despite the fact that Chancellor Schuschnigg, who is now in Paris, issued a statement prior to his departure, pledging that the #ew constitution of Austria would safeguard the equality rights of all citizens.
Speakers at the meeting, most of whom are influential in the present political machine, pointed out that their agitation against the Jews is simply in accordance with the present policy of Austria.
“Christian propaganda is nothing more than State propaganda, since Austria is a Christian country,” Dr. R. Schadesch, who presided at the rally, said, “Only Christians are entitled to enjoy full rights in our country.”
Dr. Schadesch, in the course of his speech, urged that “Aryans” should employ “Aryan” lawyers only. “We have no right to forbid the inscription of the names
