Dr. Paul Barnass, a 34-year-old German-Jewish physician, whose family has lived in Germany for more than 300 years, this week was beginning his “second life” in Seattle as the first refugee from the Hitler reign of terror to make his home in this city. He is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Guthman, long-time Seattle residents and socially prominent in the Jewish community.
