Whether Dr. Vaida-Voevod, the ex-premier of Rumania, known for his anti-Jewish activities, will or will not establish a political party of his own to carry out his anti-Jewish program, is intriguing. Jewish leaders here following an announcement today that such a party may be established within the next two weeks.
The announcement states that Dr. Vaida-Voevod has called a national conference of his followers for May 5. This conference, it is anticipated, will proclaim the new party.
RETICENT ON PLANS
Dr. Vaida-Voevod himself was rather reticent today when asked about his plans. He refused to confirm or deny the report that he will establish a special party for the purpose of carrying out his long cherished wishes to eliminate Jews from professions and from the school system.
Meanwhile, it became known today that the supporters of Dr. Vaida-Voevod are holding quiet conferences throughout the country seeking to enlist local leaders and politicians to aid in formation of the new party.
The Jewish population in Kishinev, Bessarabia, is especially concerned in view of the fact that severe anti-Jewish propaganda is now being conducted in this city where one of the worst pogroms in history took place under the Czarist regime. This propaganda is stimulated by speeches delivered by Dr. Vaida-Voevod from Transylvania and by his followers in Bessarabia.
