"Races", a play by Ferdinand Bruckner dealing with the situation of the Jews in Germany under the Nazi regime, was presented for the first time in New York Friday night at the Heckscher Theatre, 1 East 104th Street.

The play was produced by the Theatre Guild in Philadelphia which decided against bringing it to New York after a two-week run. It is presented here by the Forum Theatre with a cast headed by Van Heflin and including #es Schmidt and Virginia Stevens.

The author was exiled from Germany with the accession of Chancellor Hitler to power. Saul Morris is the producer and designer of the sets.
