The deportation of Chief Rabbi Castel Bolognese from Tripoli, which is under the administration of Italy, was reported here today.
Tripoli is the capital of Tripolitania, Italian Libya. It has a mixed Jewish and Mohammedan population. It is being administered by Marshal Italo Balbo, former Aviation Minister who led the flight of Italian aviators to the United States several years ago.
Marshal Balbo performs purely administrative functions, while the legislative power is reserved to Rome.
