Prof. Siegfried Korach, the most famous physician in Hamburg, celebrated his eightieth birthday here. He is the head of the Orphanage and Welfare Institute of the Jewish Community.

Prof. Korach, who was until recently chief physician of the Hamburg Jewish Community Hospital, is the son of a local medical practitioner. He was born in Posen, studied at Breslau University and worked as assistant to Prof. Lichtenstern at Cologne.

During the World War, he converted his hospital into a war hospital. He was elected honorary member of the Medical Association and the government made him a professor.

After the war, he became chief examiner of medical graduates and nurses in Hamburg. He is still active in Jewish life.
