Despite the assurances given Bulgarian Jews by Premier Andreja Toscheff and Minister of the Interior General Athanasov, uniformed detachments of Rodna Sashchita, recently legalized anti-Semitic organization, today conducted an anti-Jewish demonstration in front of the Ashkenazic Congregation here, and tore down the door-plate of the synagogue. The demonstration was led by the notorious anti-Semite Radeff.

Last week a special delegation of representatives of the Jewish communities in Bulgaria had an interview with the Premier and expressed their apprehension over the legalization of the anti-semitic Rodna Sashchita. The Premier, reassured the Jews declaring, “My government is very favorable to the Jews–after all, we are all members of one big family.”
